		<title><![CDATA[[Guide] 51 Chloromancer]]></title>

As per request: a little info on my view on the chloromancer class. I'll only talk about 51 Chloro builds, since so called hybrid specs fall short on both dps and healing. If you want someone to off-heal, get a cleric: they will do more damage *and* more healing.<br />
Also, I'm a bit late making this post... Apologies for that, but at the time I was asked, I was still testing some alternative builds myself first.<br />
<br />
Basically there are 2 available roles for the (51) chloro: main tank healing and raid healing. Both of those roles are covered by the same build: you don't need two soul builds to be available for both roles.<br />
Remember though that chloro is a pretty aggro-rich class: even in MT-healing mode you will do: single target damage + single target healing + AoE healing and sometimes  + AoE damage = *lots* of aggro.<br />
<br />
The build that's most effective to use is a no-brainer really: <a href='http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=1zvRz.xx0V.EdIuqAIkRR.-5' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>51 Chloro 15 Warlock 0 Archon </a>. Before 1.7, the 3rd Soul was reserved for Archmage (PvP soul), but since everyone has Break Free now, there is no use for that build anymore for PvE.<br />
<br />
51 points in Chloro to maximise your healing output;<br />
15 points in Warlock to get Opportunity (a proc that reduces the cast time of your next spell to zero), and the extra 10% hitpoints, which are of course very nice to have when you are raiding. Obviously a large hitpoint pool is less important when you're only doing Experts...<br />
Opportunity has a less obvious benefit: it makes you able to move while casting channeled abilities, like of course the most important chloromancer spell: Void Life. Opportunity also allows you to do a bit of healing while you are moving, by allowing you to cast e.g. Natural Healing and Nature's Touch while moving. It depends on a proc though, and thus is very unreliable. The HK Chloromancer crystal takes better care of this...<br />
0 Points in Archon will grant you 2 buffs, discussed below.<br />
<br />
<span class='bbc_underline'><strong class='bbc'>Buffs</strong></span><br />
A chloromancer isn't a buff bot, and offers very little utility. Both buffs offered by having 15 points in Warlock, offer very little value: Neddra's Strength will be overwritten by every other hitpoint buff that gives 40 or more Endurance, and Dark Armour is a very weak damage shield.<br />
The only nice group/raid buffs Chloro's have at this point, is Living Energy, and Wild Growth. But Living Energy is only useful if there is no bard around, or if the bard is preferred to cast a buff that better fits the needs at that specific time (like runspeed, resists, ...). Even though Living Energy only claims to reduce the skill/spell cost by 10%, it makes a *massive* difference.<br />
Wild Growth is considered to be a PBAOE HoT (heal-over-time), but since it makes enemy targets in range take 10% more damage, it is mostly used as a dps buff. The range was recently ninja-buffed (at least I didn't read about it in any update note), from 10m to 25m, severely increasing it's raid effectiveness (running into melee range is not always a good idea for someone who only wears cloth).<br />
As self buffs, there's Wild Abandon (removes roots and snares), and Entropic Veil (consumes charge but increases damage output by 19%). Please note that since chloro heals are in fact converted damage spells using a multiplier, even a little more dps will increase your healing by a significant amount.<br />
There's also Corrosion, which is a PBAOE DoT, with a limited range, but it can help you on large pulls.<br />
The 3rd Soul - Archon - offers 2 very nice in-combat self-buffs though: Searing Vitality and Pillaging Stone. Make sure to keep those up all the time. The only downside about both is that they require a hostile target, so you can only cast them in combat.<br />

<span class='bbc_underline'><strong class='bbc'>Rotation</strong></span><br />

<br />
There is no rotation for a chloromancer: simply spam Void Life (mouse button 4 for me) while having Synthesis on your tank for MT healing, or by using Livebound Veil for raidhealing. Ignore Vile Spores, Ruin, Nature's Fury, etc...<br />
Radiant Spores (mouse button 5 for me) is a must-have to keep running, even though it's less effective on some encounters. Still, it requires very little time and effort to keep up.<br />
Of course you need to keep most of your other spells standby on your hotbar, in case of emergencies like unexpected adds, or spike damage.<br />
Bloom doesn't heal that much, and you need to remember you lose 2x global cooldown if you interrupt your Void Life spam to cast Bloom. The better your gear gets, the lesser value Bloom will have. You can use it to top off a squishy, but it is not very useful to cast on a tank. 2x Global cooldown means that you lose 2 ticks of Void Life.<br />

Of course you won't win any healing awards by just spamming Void Life, and doing only that. Playing a Chloromancer effectively requires a bit more, luckily <img src='http://www.imperium.co/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/winky.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':winky:' /><br />
It is not a very complex class, but like everything else it needs practice and experience to master.<br />
<br />
I'll start by mentioning one of the most important things to have as a healer. It counts for other classes like dps people as well, but it won't be this important to them.<br />
<br />
I'm talking about hotbar setup.<br />
<br />
Make sure you put your spells where you can find them without looking, without losing time by trying to remember where that bloody icon is... <img src='http://www.imperium.co/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/winky.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':winky:' /><br />
As an example I'll show mine, but it will be different for everyone. Just make it intuitive for *you*.<br />
The screenshot below shows my entire UI layout (the raid-window is hidden behind the character window, to show raid-buffed stats).<br />

I use very little macro's. In every game stopcast macro's are *very* useful but they don't work that well with channeled abilities, so it won't interrupt your Void Life immediately. I still have them for cures and fast casting heals anyway though.<br />

Other spells are:<br />
- HEALS: Bloom (see comments above); Flourish (group heal); Essence Surge (emergency single target heal); Natural Healing (a bit meh since it takes 2.5 seconds to cast - you can use it when Opportunity procs); Wild Growth (see comments above); Natural Splendor (AoE DoT up to 8 targets, and heals up to 8 allies for a large amount - be careful though since this spell is an aggro-nightmare).<br />
- MANA REGEN: Sacrifice Life: Mana (warlock); Living Shell (try not getting hit while this is up); Empathic Bond (requires a Synthesis-target)<br />
Overall these 3 skills make the Chloromancer a mana-battery: never ever will you run out of mana <img src='http://www.imperium.co/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/winky.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':winky:' /><br />

<br />
<span class='bbc_underline'><strong class='bbc'>Consumables</strong></span><br />
Not required for instances, but a must-have for raiding:<br />
1. Heroic or Mighty Brightsurge Vials: increase both spell power and spell crit. Remember even a small increase in dps converts into a larger increase in healing.<br />
2. Burning Powerstone: adds 200 spellpower.<br />

<span class='bbc_underline'><strong class='bbc'>Planar Attunement</strong></span><br />
You can put PA points whereever you like, just remember INT is your most important stat, END second, WIS third. Gear though will be INT-WIS-END, in that order.<br />

		<description><![CDATA[Dear all,<br />
<br />
In the nicest possible and most positive possible manner I want to remind everyone what a complete b!t&pound;h it is to be a leader. This is something I have done in the past (poorly) and I just want to let you all know it is a thankless job and almost always without reward.<br />
<br />
But we should ALL be grateful and thankful because few, if any guilds, have the permanent, dedicated and strong leadership that we have here. It is often more important to have clear decisive direction as a group then for the leader to be right. Our leaders will get us there, but along the way, changes need to be made. It is far more detrimental to have a lack of direction, lack of decisiveness. We don't have that.<br />
<br />
<br />
I had to catch myself tonight as I looked over the Raid manager. Why am I in this role? What is that note about? Why is that person left out? But I took a breathe and reminded myself it's a thankless job to lead...to be in the position to make such decisions, is hard. To be a member is to accept direction and do the job I'm asked to do, for the good of all.<br />
<br />
And WHEN our leaders do make changes, know and believe they are doing so for the good of the guild. Trust they are doing their very best for us, the members, and remember, it's a thankless job.<br />
<br />
<br />
A word about longevity.<br />
Imperium has had the same leader since it's inception 10 years ago. We have officers who are on every day who have been in Imperium for a long time. There is almost always an officer online.<br />
<br />
Many of you have been in many other guilds. But did you have the support, the dedicated leadership and longevity of those leaders? Or did they burn out? Did the guild burn out and die? 99% of guilds burn out. 99% of hard core Raiding guilds die. They burn bright then fade. Why do you think Shoreline is recruiting? Because their members are bored. Being first practically guarantees you'll not be around for long because you made up of a bunch of instant gratification seekers and not comrades who love gaming together.<br />
<br />
This is a marathon, not a sprint. We are here because we love gaming <span class='bbc_underline'>together</span> and we trust our leaders to get us to the promised land.<br />
And they will IF we support them and don't make the job any harder or more thankless then it already is.<br />

If you find OP builds, let us know so we can look at them, and if you find underpowered builds let us know about those as well. You will notice that the damage of just about every ability has changed to some degree, some up and some down but in the end it should result in a more balanced playing field across the DPS souls in the Warrior. The two biggest areas you will notice changes are in Elemental damage and scaling, and Dual Wield versus Two Handers. I am also providing a list of patch notes so that you know what to expect.</div></div>

<strong class='bbc'>Equipment</strong><br />
Over the last few weeks I have noticed upon inspecting people on our raids a worrying trend of some people not having the correct Sigils equipped, not running FULL consumables and using the wrong vials etc. I appreciate that some players can get away with using a DPS sigil or STR/Dex vial for example on SOME fights but for others to not be equipped correctly simply ends in their death. Now whilst I have no issue with these players wanting to die what I do object to is when it effects the raid force and results in wipes and progress being lost.<br />
<br />
<strong class='bbc'>Builds/Roles</strong><br />
In order to raid at this standard every player in the raid needs to be familiar with ALL builds that are relevant to their role in the raid. If you do not have this knowledge then it needs to be gained ASAP.<br />
<br />
<strong class='bbc'>Focus/Concentration</strong><br />
In order to have as much time as possible on Akylios so we can learn the fight it's important that we clear lower HK as a minimum on a Friday night so when this isn't achieved it basically means we have lost a week in our Akylios learning curve. Last night too many of the raid force were just not concentrating. I have lost count of how many times we have done these fights so EVERYONE should know exactly what we do and when we do it. In addition to this we should also know what others do and when they do it. To see people standing 10 meters back from the pack on Grugonim tells me one of two  things.... They are not concentrating or they don't care. Irrelevant of which of these it is there is no place in our raids for people that do not focus and concentrate and as for the second reason I refuse to believe this is even possible.<br />
<br />
<strong class='bbc'>Suicides/Deaths</strong><br />
Enough is enough! There are still too many unnecessary deaths that are just not acceptable at this level of raiding. I appreciate that we all try our best but we really need to sort this out ASAP as currently I seriously doubt our chances of finishing HK due to raiders taking too many deaths. Most of the deaths we suffer are caused by players killing themselves and this needs to be addressed NOW! We are in danger of being forced to leave those out that struggle for the sake of the raid force and this is something I wish to avoid at all costs.<br />
<br />
<strong class='bbc'>Conclusion</strong><br />
Start concentrating, use the right equipment and stop killing yourself is the bottom-line. For those that raid that do not have the right Sigils then I suggest you pull your fingers out, start doing events etc for source-stones and get the essences ASAP!<br />
<br />
<strong class='bbc'>The Future</strong><br />
I am noticing an increasing amount of raiders that only login for raids. Whilst your playtime is of course your decision and none of my business I would like to point out that if you do not have the correct sigils in place for the next tier of raiding when we start the new tier then you shouldn't blame me when you are excluded from that tier.]]></description>

		<description><![CDATA[Recently I ran a T2 with a mostly relic Warrior that was tanking with a hybrid spec and a mix of tank and DPS gear.<br />
While I've tried this myself on occasion, he seemed to do it pretty effectively, hitting 3200 DPS on some trash pulls.<br />

From the abilities he was using, it looked like he was using <a href='http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0chgL.xxoo.gc0qczfz.EG00zsMMzR.-5' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>VK / 28 RB / 12 PL</a> or close to it. It seems to work well enough, although I've not been able to get decent DPS out of it on fights with one target, which the guy still seemed to pull off reasonably well. I was using just enough tank gear to get enough toughness, sword & board, mostly DPS jewelry except for Akryon's Mirror.<br />

Does anyone have experience with playing a similar spec in experts, or do you know of some kind of guide or tips on how to play this spec more effectively? With the imminent arrival of a new raid zone the time has come to once again address the amount of IKP that some of us have. Prior to HK arriving we reduced everyone's IKP and increased the item costs to narrow the gap between the ones that had raided since day one and the newer members. Whilst this is still an option for us this time around an alternative method is to implement a 'Decay' system.<br />

<strong class='bbc'>What is it and how does it work?</strong><br />
Simply put it shows you the IKP for each member based on the last three months of raiding. In essence this means that a new member that joins today will have the possibility to have the same IKP as me for example in 3 months time if we both attend the same amount of raids and have the same expenditure.<br />

I was in two minds about this at first but after looking at it from an unbiased point of view and putting the raid and administration of our IKP system before myself I am now of the view that this is the fairest system and also a good thing to implement.  I do believe we need to do something as at present it allows some members to enter the new raid zone and get every piece of their armour before a peer is able to get one and this is NOT in the raids interest.<br />
